A lot of making and of experience has gone to bring Mark Sheridan to the top-of-the-tree-position-as-a-comedian which he occupies to-day. He did not tumble into it accidentally. Nobody ever does really tumble into success. Plenty of people would like to think that they could, but they shirk or are ignorant of the trying long years of hard work, beginning at small things and working up bit by bit, that added to innate capacity ultimately bring the successful to any position of eminence that they happen to occupy. 	*Mark Sheridan From The Entr’acte ( A Saturday paper) 1898* The Entre’acte April 9, 1898 The Metropolitan, Edgware Road Grand Easter Holiday Programme Easter Monday, April 11 Mark Sheridan is near the bottom of the bill which includes Chirgwin, Paul Cinquevalli, Alice Lloyd, the McNaughtons. He is also mentioned under Easter Attractions at the music Halls and Variety Theatres in the April 2, 1898 issue of Entre’acte. April 16, 1898 issue- Mark Sheridan at the Metropolitan April 23, 1898 Review from the previous week: “ ....while other meritorious items are supplied by the Three Welsh Girls, Mr. Mark Sheridan, Miss Nina Bainbridge, and Les Petit Viviennes.” No mention of Mark Sheridan for the Whitsun Programme in the May 28, 1898 issue. Mark not in London?????
